“The Tivoli closed around 2003. There was awful pressure on venues, and keeping them open. We were keeping it open until 6 o’clock, and we had guys at either end of Francis Street watching out for the cops.

“At this stage, we were like ‘fuck it, we just want to do it, and do it right’, rather than have to close at 1.30 or 2am. So we decided we were just going to keep it open until we get arrested.”
